I am wondering if this announcement has anything to do with the 30 new E -175's at UAL?

Mesa Airlines Announces #1 Ranking Among US Regional Airlines for Third Consecutive Year

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mesa Air Group, Inc., the regional airline based in Phoenix, AZ operating as US Airways Express in Charlotte, N.C. and Phoenix, AZ, as United Express in Chicago, IL and Dulles, VA, and as go!, Hawaii?s low cost inter-island carrier, is pleased to announce its #1 ranking among US regional airlines for the third consecutive year.

According to the US Department of Transportation Air Travel Consumer Report, Mesa has been the number one regional airline in on-time arrivals, completed flights, fewest number of passenger complaints and fewest mishandled bags, for the last three consecutive calendar years; the ?Grand Slam" of airline excellence.

CEO - Jonathan Ornstein said, "This recognition is tangible evidence of the company?s strong operational performance and reflects Mesa?s continued commitment to its airline partners, United Airlines and US Airways, and our passengers. We thank all of our people and business partners for helping us achieve this fantastic performance."

Paul Foley Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer said, "Mesa's outstanding operating record combined with its low cost structure positions us well to compete for growth in this rapidly changing industry. We are very proud of our team of nearly 1,800 dedicated professionals. This achievement is a result of their hard work and daily focus on the details."

Mesa Airlines currently operates 370 daily system departures to 74 cities, 32 states, Mexico and the District of Columbia. Mesa operates as US Airways Express and United Express under contractual agreements with US Airways and United Airlines, respectively, and independently in Hawaii as go! The airline, founded by Larry and Janie Risley in New Mexico in 1982, has approximately 1,800 employees.

Nothing to do with the UAL 175's. Good accomplishment, dont get me wrong but with only 370 flights / day its a-lot easier to achieve high numbers.

Congratulations Mesa

Or just as likely, with smaller numbers even minor issues are compressed and can look statistically much worse. I am sure you have heard the 'law of large numbers"?

Congratulatons to Mesa, this is an extraordinary accomplishment, particularly over a three year period.

It's called an average... If you only have one flight a day- you need to make sure that one is always on time.

The more flights you have the more you can screw up and still have decent numbers.

Hey enjoy the slow death of those 50 sweaters. It's an anchor dragging you down. Your day is rapidly approaching. Mesa beat everyone to
the punch.

Congrats to MESA, no matter how many flights they operate. Hope you guys get all the 175s.

Give em the 175's throw a bunch of flights in and out of SFO and watch their numbers take a nose dive
