Dear Flightinfo.com Members:
I have just spent several days in Washington D.C. at Capitol Hill.
I want to let you know, that the anger and outrage that you feel regarding the vandalism at Chicago Meigs Field is being heard throughout the Senate and Congressional Offices Buildings. Pilots from as far away as Oregon have lit up the switchboards regarding this! (I know because I was in Rep. Peter Defazios office when a call came in!)
I have personally met with dozens of Legislative Directors, and even a few members of Congress.
The response I have received from them is very POSITIVE!
Our message to them is very simple:
1. We are OUTRAGED!
2. This is not over!
3. Meigs Field needs to be repaired and reopened!
4. We need stronger protections for our nations airports so that this will never happen anywhere else again!
5. We need your help!
In the next few days, federal legislation will be introduced. The details of that legislation will be made available to all Flightinfo.com members. That is when each and everyone of you will become vital to the cause of Meigs Field and the cause of protecting our National Aviation Transportation System.
I have enjoyed being a Flightinfo.com Member for the last two years and look forward to everyones involvement in this issue.
Please Stand-By for instructions once this legislation is introduced. I will be jumpseating back to D.C. (Thanks SWA crews for your assistance for the MDW-BWI trip!) in order to walk the marble floors of the capital.
Thanks for your support.
