121FS, 113FW, DCANG...way back in 1999. It was for a FY00 slot if I remember correctly (but I try to block it out obviously...it hurts to even think about it). :D

I think I interviewed for your slot after you fell out! You're an XJT guy right? Sorry!

Took this right from baseops. The way I take it, there a different standards for fighter pilots or any class of military aviator for that matter. Maybe once you are accepted make it through training and on to active duty you are allowed to wear contacts, glasses as a fighter pilot, I don't know for sure. I always thought it was 20/20 for fighter pilots, and a bit more relaxed for all other types for military aviators. I will keep looking because I know I read it somewhere, I'm interested in flying fighters for the USAF myself, so I know I must've come across it somewhere.

Where does it specify fighters as opposed to heavies? Having actually been to training, trust me, you are all under the same requirements upon entry to UPT.

It is possible but at the time I interviewed I was a senior in college (March 99 time frame). Are you now flying for the 121FS?

You'll take his word for it?? Did you bother to read the link you posted? If so, where does it differentiate between fighters & heavies for any service??
