Does anyone know how long it normally takes for a new medical to appear in the FAA database? I am curious because I applied on Aug 2 for a first class medical, but I moved on August 7 and have had all sorts of paperwork problems since. I'm thinking they probably lost my paperwork but I also have a slight heart murmer. I have a letter saying that no problem with my 2nd class I got a few years ago (as long as nothing changes and I don't need medication) and I've never had a problem with those but I applied for a first class this time and I am getting a little nervous that maybe they are going to give me a hard time about it (it was an AME who discovered the murmer in 1999, so the FAA has all the paperwork). Any suggestions.

Contact your AME, and process your request through him or her. That your name appears on the FAA database, which is often wrong and often very out of date...means nothing.

Follow up through your AME. It's a good place to start. The AME may be willing to do some calling for you, or may direct you to contact CAMI yourself.
