Listening to Fox News to today there is a promo going on about Linda Vesters talk show "Day Side"

It starts out like this "Afraid of Flying? You should be. Pilots are getting drunk before they go fly!"

It makes me sick. I am sure they are refering to the two America West guys not being prosecuted by the state of Florida. Well, I have a trip later this afternoon so I guess I have to crack open my Captain Morgan and start chugging.

See it works

See you are talking about it, so it works she gets more exposure and becomes more famous in her trade. Soon their wil be stories about pilots touching themselves in inapproriate places while using the bathroom on the airplane. It sells and that is the bottom line in the media business.

FOX should stick with what they do well.....The Simpsons and let the news alone.

When I was deployed to OIF, Fox News was by far the most accurate news source. I had never watched Fox prior to the war and I never knew what I was missing. Now, I don't get the news from anywhere else.

I'm sure the other outlets would love for Fox to "let the news alone" since Turner, Rather and friends are losing viewers in droves to the more balanced approach of Fox.

Two small examples of Fox's "more balanced approach:"

(1) During the September 11th attack, Fox News was the only network (that airs in DFW) to report that a "four-engine United Express jet" had crashed near Colorado Springs. It later turned out to be a Cessna 172 that had made a forced landing.

(2) Shortly after September 11th, MSNBC introduced a story by saying, "this week, Congress debated the issue of enhanced psychological screening for air carrier pilots...." Our friends at Fox introduced the same story by saying, "is the guy flying your plane a wacko?"

As far as accuracy, I don't think Fox does things any better than the others. As for journalistic integrity, forget it. Fox doesn't have any.

Thank god. I don't know why so many people on here like FOX when they are very clearly the least accurate and most sensationalist news channel there is.

Least accurate? I recall that Fox was the ONLY news channel that accurately portrayed the war as moving on schedule and great success. Every other TV news station including the rest of the cable stations had segments virtually ever hour talking about how we were in a 'quagmire'. Good God, we rolled into Bagdad in 3 weeks!

Also, I happen to recall a story CNN reported last year in which a light twin was circling for hours (all of which they televised) to get rid of fuel. It had a gear indicator light that would not come on so CNN got all excited about what a dangerous situation this was. Well, their 'aviation expert' comes on and proceeds to tell us that he can't understand why the pilot doesn't use fuel dump....as if you can dump fuel from a light twin- and this is their expert!! Yes, even your beloved CNN is not as accurate as you would like to think. Unfortunately most news outlets have no clue when it comes to aviation. Makes you wonder what else they are getting wrong on subjects that we don't know so much about...

IMO all the news channels suck. It's just how much they suck, and in what particular areas that makes them different.

Let's not confuse Rupert Murdoch's right-wing views and patriotic flag-waving with journalistic accuracy.

Fox is the "NY Post" of TV News.

Hmmm, well, in that case... Let's not confuse Ted Turner and Peter Jennings and Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather's left-wing views and America bashing with journalistic accuracy.

CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and MSNBC are the 'NY Times' of TV News
