mdw to ord

Anyone have a clue if you can use public transportation from Midway to O'Hare? Or how much is it by taxi?? Thanks

Be prepared for about a 90 minute - 2 hour trip. I would still take the train instead of a shuttle, because it could easily take that long in heavy traffic.

A taxi would cost a lot, unless you get a fixed airport rate or limo. I think a limo might be cheaper than a taxi if they run the meter. I'm guessing 40 bucks or so at the very cheapest if the meter is running. Can beat the buck-fifty for the train.

Omega shuttle. It runs regularly from the baggage pickup area (door 3 I believe). Used to be 12-14 bucks for the aircrew rate. I haven't taken it in three years, so I don't know what the price is now. Sure I'm going to find out soon as my commute to MDW starts tomorrow.

Train service isn't bad. Plan on about 90 minutes. Sometimes faster if you make the connection just right. Orange line from MDW, change to Blue line at the Clark/Lake street station.

Just took the Omega shuttle the other day, Flight Crew rate of 15 dollars... Pick up at Door 3 at MDW....

Coach USA

Wisconsin Coach runs between MDW and ORD. I have not used it yet but have been told it's about 45 minutes and they don't make any stops. I think Omega makes stops. Crew rate is $6. I've been told you have to buy a book of of 10 and I've been told you only have to buy one, so I'm not sure on that one. Either way, you purchase it from the driver. Big bus that says Coach USA.

I once took a taxi from MDW to ORD trying to make a flight out of town, bad idea. $55 plus tip. And there was no traffic to speak of. Can't beat the buck seventy-five on the EL if you have the time and a book to read!

I took the Omega shuttle in January and highly recommend it. I think it took about 45-50 minutes.
