737-400 Pilot Seat Headrest Installations

Engineering has determined that with the pilot seat headrest installed (NG) there are few if any indications of shoulder harness straps hitting the P-6 and P-18 Circuit Breaker Panels. Without the headrests installed (400) there is a higher incidence of shoulder harness straps damaging the circuit breaker panels and in some cases the shoulder harnesses may have actually caused circuit breakers to trip. To minimize these events, we will be installing pilot seat headrests in all of the 737-400 aircraft. The installations will begin in June ‘09 and are expected to be completed by the end of summer.
