I am not sure where you read anything about 737s in that article? I don't think any deal for UA is off the table.
 
I just see an inept and incompetent management that couldn't make money even if it was handed to them. They do not want to run the airline. It may be to early to laugh, but our fuel is hedged at 120 a barrel for the rest of the year. Today oil is 117 a barrel, again ual management is losing money.
 
Glenn Tilton sent an email spewing about all the good "Working together" has done with several teams from UAL and CAL. They met this week in Houston and next week they will be in Chicago.

I am convinced the UAL/CAL deal is NOT dead and pretty much moving forward--only after a lot of pain across the employee groups.
 
I think you guys are correct.....in order to be compete with the new Delta, UAL and CAL have no choice but to combine. I bet we see the announcement before the year is out.
 
No doubt Tilton wants out of this loser industry (he's a former oil man with Chevron). He's crafting his exit strategy with CAL as we speak...
