Just wondering if anybody knows of any good Hotels in Maui that offers crew rates. Thanks

Maui Coast in Kihei is the go to crew hotel on Maui. I don't know the rate.

The Westin Kaanapali has been giving $125 a night rates through Priceline recently. Check biddingfortravel.com for current updates.

The best deal though is to rent a condo. VRBO.com has hundreds of condo listings. You rent directly from the owner and can get a nice place for a good price.

The Hyatt Regency or the Sheraton at Black Rock in Kaanapali Maui.

My favorite is the Hyatt Regency in Poipu Kauai.

For the absolute best budget deal is the http://www.mauian.com/ on Napili Bay. Make sure you ask for the airline deal. Very, very cheap on right on the freaking beach and Snorkel Bob's is just up the road.

Agree 1000%. I came back from Maui 2 weeks ago, and we rented a very nice condo with 1 BR, living room, and kitchen, for $99/night. It was clean and modern. We saved a boatload of cash by using the kitchen to prepare many of our own meals.

I don't go on vacation "to prepare many of our own meals"

the wife and i just got back from maui a couple weeks ago. i signed up for an id90.com membership and found our hotel. there were quite a few hotels listed for maui. our hotel was all ocean view rooms. 50% savings. $150/night + tax. think it came to $168 per night. http://www.resortquesthawaii.com/hawaii/propertyOverview.do?propertyGroupId=25567

i tried to book at the sheraton black rock, but there were no rooms available. i think that place books up pretty quick, at least the rooms at airline rates. plus i think you have to pay to park there. the snorkeling at black rock was awesome.

The Outrigger Royal Kahana gives airline discounts, but we got a better deal through a travel outfit - Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays, I think. We were very happy with it, and there is a grocery store up the road if you want to save some $ on meals.

Pick up a copy of Maui Revealed at the bookstore if you're headed that way - it tells you a lot about the island and off the beaten path sights.

Thanks for all the info. Keep it coming , if anybody has any ideas on where to stay at the other islands we are open to anything. Just heard Maui was really nice.

Forgive my suggestion. I didn't mean to imply that you had to lift a finger while on vacation. I realize that's just too much for some.

Being economical allows us to vacation for 12 days instead of 6. We primarily SCUBA dive, and when we're not underwater, we hike the Hana highway and explore some of the out of reach areas. In other words we get off our butts. Some people actually enjoy that.

Maui is very nice. The diving is great, and Haleakala Crater is well worth the trip, whether you hike or go on horseback. On our last trip, we spent 4 days in Maui and the rest on the Big Island. We stayed at a less expensive place (for Hawaii) in Hilo - Uncle Billy's. It was nothing spectacular, but we were there to see Kilauea, not the hotel. The Royal Kona Resort was nice. I don't think either one offered an airline discount, but we got a decent rate (again, for Hawaii) via a package deal, and I think we got an airline rate on that. Grab a copy of The Big Island Revealed to get the gouge.

Check out the Mana Kai Maui. I stayed there for a week in May04 for $79/night. Room was nice. A bit small but who cares. It had a king bed so nothing else mattered. It's in Kihei. Has an awesome sandy beach and the restaurant serves the best french toasts and eggs benedicts on the island.

Aloha
