I know this book is years old I ran across it the other day. According to Ms. Schiavo no airline or model is safe to fly on. I know that this book is dated , when published the "RJ" was just put in to service. This book book is what give the flying public such a negative opinion about the avation community. Sorry for the rant. fly safe

No apologies needed for the rant. I haven't read the book, but I remember the uproar. Sounded like a lot of hype and disinformation and few facts.

LAXSaabdude.

I've read it. It's pure garbage, of the worst Chicken Little variety. Minh

Just another pent-up housewife wanting to do smoething important. She should stay in the kitchen where she can actually be useful...;)

I heard that the publisher pulled the book from print because there were so many compaints and threats of lawsuits from around the industry. Can anyone confirm this?

I read a few excerpts from the book. I was surprised to learn (according to Scary Mary) that the 757 was one of the most dangerous airplanes out there!?! It didn't take me too long to realize that her babbling was nothing more than a bitter person who wanted to get even at the industry and the book wasn't worth the time to read.

She needs a career change, like waiting tables!

Flying Blind, Flying Safe

I own a copy of the book. The facts are lacking and what facts there are, she skews them to support her claims.

Completely biased rhetoric which served to do nothing more than put the flying public in more scrutiny of the industry.

Anyone for a good book-burning?

What she or the media will never mention is that during the ATR groundings of the early 1990's the overall transportation death rate increased as more people who would have flown on short hops were forced to drive on our highways.
