Sometimes its a good practice to avoid Marriotts overseas anyhow...

They are usually on the lower end of quality (Hyatts,Interconts are usually better) and lets face it, they are a definite symbol of America...so they are potential terrorist targets..remember Indonesia?

"Security"...just another reason to have the boss swing for the Ritz-Carlton...

:)

The Marriotts that won't give me rewards are Wailea Marriott [both of them in Maui], Waikoloa [in Kona], Las Vegas and Surfers Paradise [in Australia]. Go figure.

By the way the Surfers Paradise Marriott is Quite a good one, much better than the Sheraton Mirage.

I just checked my points on the Web.

Go figure. I have received points from Marriott Waikoloa Beach {kona}, payment etc was no different from the previous three stays in Maui?
