Hi!
I'm reading an interesting article:
"Silver linings, darkening clouds
Mar 25th 2004
From The Economist print edition
http://www.economist.com/business/displayStory.cfm?story_id=2535961
It has an interesting table comparing the Top 10 airlines in Worth and Seat-miles
The biggest (2002 stats):
AA
UAL
DAL
NWA
JAL
BA
Air France
Lufthansa
SWA
Quantas
Interestingly, all 4 of the big US hub airlines did NOT make the top 10 market cap, while the next 6 in size all made the top 10 in Worth (Market Cap)
SWA
Singapore Airlines
Cathay Pacific
JAL
Lufthansa
BA
All Nippon
Quantas
Ryanair
Air France
I was reading a post from a DAL guy who was at the DAL CEO's brefing recently. DAL's CEO said that in the future ONLY 2 US hub carriers will remain.
Are we pilots ready for the way our industry is rapidly changing???
