Ok, I did some research, again, and found out that someone -- they are not stating who, will be flying new routes from these cities to MDW. At first we thought maybe Colgan. News articles state that the flight time from Marion Illinois to Chicago is "a little under two hours" --that is not an RJ. It must be a turboprop but who?
Mesa pulled out, Great lakes pulled out. MDW only has Delta and Continental Express and Mesaba, while the other airlines do not have feeders.

They also stated that one of the airlines is familiar with the illinois market and one is not. Who are these companies? Any guesses or rumors from your company?

All of the newspapers in the MWA area have been saying Great Lakes, however, that has been a couple of months back. I didn't know that they pulled out of it.

BTW - I think that the Marion service is to stop in Decatur on the way to MDW.

The flying will be announced officially on Nov. 14, 2006.
The majority will be united with some additional airways flying (mostly EAS).
Some binding contractual aggreement between careers forbade them from annoucing the carrier specifics in detail prior to DOT final approval.

I'm starting to think Big Sky will be doing the Marion, decatur, quincy flying. They start service out of MDW around the same time the EAS stuff will be announced. Big Sky is new to the Chicago area and they fly the beech which is what the original flying that Great Lakes and Mesa were going to fly. The Colgan stuff is either seperate or just a rumor.

RegionsAir is familiar with those airports and Illinois, but Idon't think they're in ANY shape to be bidding on more work.

Welp, I just called Big Sky and talked to Ruth. She said Dec 3 for Springfield Illinois, nothing else. Ummm

Talked to Marion Illinois Dir of Airport, they said Wed/Thurs of this week for the announcement. Holding my breathe!

hahahah, dude she really sounded like Marge Simpsons smoking sister. No joke! Did u get free rent from eating... welll llalalalaalalalalalalal

Since you are into the research recently, try to find out when Colgan will implement CAASS. The last message we got was to add 2 weeks to the current day.
