Does anybody know if there was a good reason why our President's administration selected a European helicopter to be the next "Marine One?"

Yeah, yeah, I know: Lockheed-Martin is building them under contract. There are also Hondas being built in the U.S. It just doesn't seem right, though. I'd rather see the President step off a Sikorsky than a AgustaWestland.

How about that designation? US-101? Seen the ads? European marketing types wrapping themselves in American flags... :rolleyes:
 
Seems lame to me.
But then again I also think that we should use 767's to replace kc-135s. WHAT WAS I THINKING..... (Since there are so many other large aircraft manufacturers out there in the states)
