From what I hear the last several Allegheny guys are finishing up "transition" this month and the begining of April. Once thats done they will hire 20 or so per month thru the summer. Also they are short Capts and will be upgrading too.

Note: hiring at PDT will depend on deliveries of aircraft to PSA and MDT. The plan pre-CH13 was to pare off most of the Dash 8's (all the leased ones between ALG and PDT) and keep the ones we own. This is approximatly 18 from ALG and 20-25 from PDT. So your looking at a total around 40 Dash 8's under that plan and they will fly them until they cannot fly them anymore, if at that point (around 2008) there is $$ in the bank they may get new planes or may just close PDT down and contract the remaing TP flying to Colgan or something else. Thats anyone guess, the powers that be in Crystal City haven't even planned what they were supposed to do yesterday so good luck getting solid info about the future.

However, post Ch13 when the deliveries of 170's to MDA and CRJ700's to PSA stopped they decided to extend some of the leases on the Dash to fill the gap. Hence the stagnation at MDA and hiring and upgrade at PDT.

MDA is waiting on 3 170's (2 in Star Alliance colors and one in company paint) but we have been told that we will not see them until June. If we get the 3 we will have 28 total 170's at MDA, right now we have 25. Pre CH13 we had 85+ on order.

So you can see the hiring at PDT depends on these aircraft deliveries to MDA/PSA. If we emerge from CH13 in May/June and have $$ or Credit than expect the 170/190's and 700's to resume comming. If that happens there will still be hiring at PDT as some of the PDT guys will leave for MDA positions. If MDA/PSA do not get the planes then also figure on hiring at PDT for atrition, but a alittle slower pace.

There may be a possibility of some info comming our way this TUE 3/15/2005 as U need to file its CH13 emergance with the courts. In there may be some kind of fleet plan. Guess we will see.

BTW for ex ALG guys, I bumped into some remaining (ABE/MDT)ALG guys at the sim center in CLT last week, they said the last ALG flight is sked for the first or second week in April.

Good info Lear. It will be sad to hear the last of ALG on the radio, it was a great company to work for in the long run, and I'm glad that nobody was completely left without a seat in the end.

Good one. Seriously, a JAN04 DOH would put one at about 350 out of 500.
