Anyone know where to stay in Marathon Key? Where not to stay?

I stayed at the Holiday Inn there once, it was pretty nice. It's also close to the airport with a good seafood place across the street.

Don't stay at the Banana Bay Resort. It's not terrible but I'm sure there are better options. I wont stay here again.

Pros:

Rooms are clean and staff is friendly
Nice pool
Quiet

Cons:

Very basic continental b-fast

Have to pay for internet, $10/day or $23/3-day but it's been only working about 50% of time.

Half of news programs on tv are blocked by v-chip because they are unrated. I don't know if it's just my tv or the whole operation. When I asked the front dest I might as well have been speaking Japanese.

I don't spend all of my time in the room but when I'm there I want things to work, especially if I have to pay extra for it.

I drove by the Holiday Inn yesterday and it looks pretty decent from the outside.

If you decide to drive to Key West for the sunset festivities give yourself 2 hours to get there and find a place to park.
