Hey guys,

Anyone have an idea on how I can get my hands on Cessna's Service/Maintenance publications for a 152? Are these available online for free. or do you have to subscribe to them and pay for updates?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

The best/cheapest way would be to befriend your local IA or the guy who works on the C-152 in question. They will normally be more than happy to let you take a look. Otherwise it's going to cost you a pretty penny to get your hands on those.

Manuals for year models prior to around '75 or so, (don't hold me to an exact date) are available for free on the Cessna Pilot's Association web site, (membership required) and for a nominal fee from a number of sources on CD-ROM. After a certain year in the mid-late '70s or so, Cessna retained the copyright, and you have to pay much bigger bucks to order from them. Your best bet for a deal is to watch ebay for them. I got both paper and electronic versions of both there.

Bear in mind that when you obtain those manuals, they're not legal for use. You need a subscription to a current source to legally use them to work on your aircraft. Essco and the other sources named are fine for reference, but do not provide the latest information or regular updates, and can't be used as the basis of a reference for work performed.
