That guy must be psychotic or on some head meds. Video doesn't show why he was restrained in the first place. It starts after he's already had the plastic cuffs applied.

I heard it was a deadheading F/O from an unnamed U.S. carrier who just found out about Bush signing age 65.....someone said he was arguing with the seatback, punching it and calling it "Prater" something.

It was said he was led off in a straitjacket babbling about needing to change his diapers and wanting a toy............

That pretty much describes the mental state of the majority of the anti-65 crowd on the other threads...

Panic attack? No, it does not have any of the objective indications of a panic attack.

He says that he hates white people who will shoot him, kill him and eat him. ... the same hate speech rhetoric you hear coming from the Clerics who refer tp Americans and Satan and Jewish people as pigs. My inclination would be to take the man at his word. Crazy, probably not. Indoctrinated, probably yes.

How much you want to bet this guy reports to somebody how his disturbance was handled. He seems very willing to get shot....

Hopefully the government will take whatever action is needed to ensure our safety while respecting this man's rights to return to his Country and remain off aircraft where he has shown a propensity to disrupt the peace.

I agree. That display was not of someone experiencing a panic attack.

It's unclear as to why he was restrained, but certainly he is either on medication or mentally unstable.

Good point....pure conjecture on my part, but he may have been trying to find out if he could "freak out" enough to get the pilots to open the flight deck door, or maybe smoke out the canadian equivilant of FAMs...

It does have the characteristics of a classic panic attack.

One common symptom of this is for the victim to become irrational and depending on their background "relive" other traumatic events.

His cries of "shoot me" and "beat me" could very well be something he's experienced in the past. That being said, in this day and age he needs to be subdued and extra vigilance from the crew is necessary. An incident like this is an excellent diversionary tactic for people with other motives.

They're still probing...

Stay vigilant
