This may be a stupid question, and bear with me b/c I am not very informed, but have any major American airline OR their parent company ever thought about starting airlines up in other countries? What is preventing Delta from starting up a Delta over in Europe? Too much cost/risk involved? Too much competition from a saturated market over there? How about in Asia? They're reproducing like rabbits over there and are also getting a higher standard of living, would it possible/profitable for a US major to start up elsewhere?

All I can say about your question is that Pilots from America want to live there too. (Live in America) ;)

Nice for a quick vacation, but I doubt that any American pilot would want to live there by choice right now. With such a weak dollar, their higher taxation and cost of living, only the rich could afford it. Unless, of course, the company will compensate you for it accordingly. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Outsourced American Pilot!
