It may not be the best, but it is the best I ever made. I won't tell many smokin' secrets but thought I'd share this.

2# ground chuck or other meat (venison is great)
28 oz. can whole tomatoes
8 oz. tomato sauce
3 cups water
1 medium sweet onion
3 T chili powder
1 large or 2 small bell peppers (1 green and 1 red if you can)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ t cayenne pepper
3 fresh jalapenos
1 ½ t. oregano, crushed
2 t. paprika
2 t. salt

If you're smokin' a Brisket, put the beans below the brisket and let the drippings get all in it!

:D

Now THAT sounds like a good chili.

One of the first things I learned when I arrived in Texas (from socal) is that there are NO beans in chili.

Otherwise it's bean soup. Get that you d*mned northerners? NO BEANS IN CHILI! :D
