Would anyone have any helpful info about flying to, staying in Mérida? I think the boss is staying near Progreso. Will be there the week of 12/25.
Thanks in advance.

I go through there for customs on a somewhat regular frequency.

PM me if you have questions

airport is easy, the gen-av ramp can get pretty crowded during tourist season, especially X-Mas and New Years, as the worlds wealthy wish to celebrate from the beach

town is pretty safe, not the typical Mexican street crime and other crap. Don't walk around solo at night however, play it safe anyway

also you can buy Guayabera (sp?) shirts, the "Latin Dictator"/"barber" shirts for like 10 bucks each. The good quality ones actually look nice with tan dockers. They will sell them in the hotel lobby, but you can go to various local markets and buy them cheaper.

90% of the shirts sold retail in USA are made in Merida, Mexico, the rest in Central America, and some are made in Florida but you will pay for them also.
