I would imagine that they are only hiring captains initially. They are going to want their captains to get some time in the airplane and the quickest way to do that is to put two of them in the same airplane.

Looks like one of their first cities will be Tulsa... not quite in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc. is buying 10 Bombardier Q400 turboprop planes worth $256.8 million. It will operate them through a wholly owned subsidiary and will fly to as many as 18 destinations in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains.

Frontier did not name the cities it will serve but said service could begin as early as May. Boyd said the planes are best used on flights to places such as Aspen, Jackson Hole, Durango, Grand Junction and Billings, Mont.

Is anybody else surprised at how high the minimums are? If you had those times, why go to Lynx to fly a prop for $50 bucks an hour when you could go somewhere else for more $$$?

What are the mins?

What are the mins?

• 2500 hours pilot in command (PIC)
• 1500 hours jet/turbo-prop
• Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Vision corrected to 20/20

Is that for FO or Captain?

Ah, then that's not that bad.. :)

Lynx is interviewing

One of our pilots interviewed yesterday in Denver at Lynx. Not much info yet other than the fact that of the eight that were interviewed only one had any DHC-8 flight time. Ill post more info if I get any further details.
