Anyone know what happened to that Luxair jet that crashed near Luxembourg (sp ?)? I don't even know what kind of airplane it was, but it wasn't a "small" airplane, and apparently 18 of 22 onboard were killed. Just curious is all.

Luxair Fokker 50

I read this on www.pprune.org

Wx was foggy. RVR 150 meters. Capt was chief pilots son.

Some speculation about whether or not an engine was producing power at time of impact.

um...let me guess, someone **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ed up!

Chief Pilots' son flying? what are the prereqs for that? chief pilot usually means you landed with gear up...what are the son requirements?

If it was the CP's son are you ASSuming that he wasn't a qualified pilot? I didn't start this thread to bash the pilots involved. If mechanical malfunction wasn't to blame then obviously someone made a mistake.

sorry, just being stupid.
