Does anyone have any advice as to what luggage you would recommend as a carry on?

I've been looking at the Samsonite 700 series, Delsey Amherst II, and the Skyway Skytrack.

Any information would be helpful...

Thanks...

I just got a Delsey Intrigue today! :D
100 bucks- on sale at Bloomingdales
alot of room and it even has this pocket that goes inside where you can reach in and pull stuff out of your carryon without actually opening the whole thing up.
Great for those times when you need to get rid of the contraband you have hidden in your carry-on fast.

Go for the Purdy Neat Bags....built like a tank but a little pricey.
I think travel pro is junk, I destroyed on in less than 8 months and I didnt even use it that much

TravelPro is junk!
My bag, my wife's bag, and several people I've talked to have had the same problems with these bags. The handles break off, the zippers rip out, and the extendable handle breaks. They have a warranty, so it gets repaired for free, but it is a pain in the keister to have it repaired. Carrying all my clothes in a garbage sack while it is repaired is not professional. At least the heavy duty black garbage bags meet company guidelines: all black, no colored striping.
Edit: I do like the design of the bag. It is very functional, rolls nice, and looks good. I have the crew3. They may have improved the crew4 and addressed previous weak points. For the money, it not a bad piece of luggage. You will fork over much more coin for the purdy neat and other heavy duty bags.

I have a Crew4 and I really don't like it. I've had it about a year and a half (24") and so far the back zipper has been ripped off. Both handles have ripped off (the connectors are made of plastic around brass). And I've had to replace the wheels already. I do like the design of it, but I can't have it breaking when I'm 8,000 miles away from home. My next bag will probably be a Swiss Army. Some people say they are too expensive and opt to buy a $100 bag every year. No thanks, you get what you pay for.

I picked up a TravelPro for a song recently, and I already don't like it.

1- The back zipper is now missing the pull.

2- The zipper on the front main pocket is bent and now won't "zip" in one direction, thankfully the second zipper is still good.

3- The anchor point for the hanging strap is loose.

4- The strap itself is too short. At max extension, my flight case can't touch the ground when the suitcase is vertical, so if I let go it automatically tips over.

I am pretty disappointed. The American Tourister that I got at Staples for under 80 bucks was great except for the wheels, tough as nails and I finally decided to replace it after 2yrs 8mos, give or take. All the zipper pulls are still on that bag, by the way... All the zippers work, too.

This bag has sustained more damage in under a month than the last one did in nearly three years. I can't say I'm particularly happy with this bag right now....

Delsey has very good customer support. They've supplied me with parts for some large suitcases we've used for serious family travel...at no cost. The bags are very old and not even in production anymore.

You don't see that kind of service much these days. Still prefer my PNT thing for work travel ( back when I was working, that is. )
