Why is the stealth NG at Luggage Works so much more expensive than the Stop-Over Store and the Outer Marker. Aren't they the same bags, built by the same people.

Some of these places sell a bag that looks like the original Stealth bag, but has a plastic frame and base.

You get what you pay for.

the names are the same and the descriptions of the items are the same. I don't want to buy the cheap stuff but I don't wan't to spend an extra $60 if I don't have to.

rk772, If you work for the airlines you get a discount. Also, the stop over store bags are coverd through the mfgr - Luggage works. Do you want to go to the source or second hand man?

Also, the sizes may vary and at luggage works, they offer custom logos.

[font=Times New Roman, Times, serif][size=-1] The Stealth NG Pilot Bag is an enhanced version of our original metal frame Stealth Bag and offers a combination of durability and functionality as well as first class looks. As with the original version, the Stealth NG comes with two front pockets, three side pockets and two back pockets. Internally, a shirt shelf and a movable divider are provided. Enhancements include a stainless steel handle, redesigned top and bottom castings and modified zipper design. As before, the handle extends to a comfortable height and we continue to use top quality, sealed bearing, inline skate wheels. We are certain you will find that the New Stealth NG has all "THE RIGHT STUFF".

104NG 26" Stealth includes stabilizer strap.

Special Notice - Southwest Pilots
should order the 102NG in lieu of the 103NG. The storage space on Southwest planes is too narrow for the 103NG and will result in damage to the bag that is not covered by the LuggageWorks warranty.

Purdy Neat bags purchased from the Stop-Over Store come with our Gold Seal affixed to the inside frame. This Gold Seal displays the date the bag was purchased. Should your bag need repair, the seal will entitle the owner to use of a loaner bag and will serve as proof of purchase for determining warranty status.

Stop-Over Store is an authorized Purdy Neat repair center. Go to Repairs on the Home Page for more info.

Bags ordered with a logo take 3-4 weeks to arrive at the shipping address.

Personalized handles, if not ordered with a logo, will arrive separately via US mail from Purdy Neat 2-3 weeks from the order date.

Are you talking about the Luggage Works website?

If you register as an airline employee the prices at LW are lower than posted. I just bought a 103NG from The StopOver Store (they don't charge for shipping) but the bag is the same price at Luggage Works once you're signed in.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to it.

I'm no longer an airline employee. I'm flying corporate now so I guess the only way to get the $269 price is through the stopover store.

My travelpro blew a wheel, lost 2 screws, and blew 2 zippers in a two week period. It only made it through 2.5 years of airline use. One year of that, it was abused by the Saab rampers and the last 1.5 it was gently placed in the coat closet of the ERJ by me. What a piece of Crap.

Oh yea, the bottom skid plate cracked in half too.

You could always register and when they ask for your Airline, just list "Other". If memory serves, I used "Other" because they didn't have ASA as a choice.

Of course, it really doesn't matter because The StopOver Store is the same price and doesn't charge for shipping, so you're better off there anyway.

Stopover store also gives you a FREE crew tag of your choice. YEAH!!!

Yeah, that ATL crew tag they sent me does look pretty spiffy!

They have a Comair tag but not ASA. WTF?

Just the man tryin' to keep us down, I tell ya!

I had great luck with WWW.OUTERMARKER.COM or 1-888-LOW-WING. Ask for Dennis, he is knowledgable, friendly, and will "deal" as to beat the other prices. They also have free shipping, and while there take a look at the pilot shirts, I have yet to find a better price...

Ditto, I had a great experience with them ordering mine.

Buy the Costco bag, best bag out there and lifetime warranty.

here here.

fits in the overhead, carrys enough for a 4 day, looks good, and its quiet..

Speaking of that, one of the wheels on my costco bag started to sqweek after 1.5 years. I think I'll go trade it in for a new one today.

...

I don't understand paying $270 for the stealth bag. I've seen numerous people pay around $100 to have them "refurbished" after a couple of years; they weigh double what normal luggage does; they use metal, which gets all bent up; and they look worn after only a few months of airline use because the paint comes off the metal??

I do agree that they look cool though.

I like those stealth bags you airline boys bring to the corporate world. They are terrific for putting $1,000 scratches in burled cabinetry. They never saw a fine aircraft interior they couldn't help make look like a beat up airliner...

????

Does anyone have a link or phone number to this stopover stores?

Edit: Nevermind
