That's for you Longhorn!

It will be interestig to see if paxs want to get out of a Lufty first class seat and into a blue chip, blue collar seat next to bubba.

Well if I had to fly coach jetblue would be my first choice over any legacy. Great product especially the 190's

Rest assured my friend that LH is protecting it's arz from a possible UA/DL merger in the not too distant future.

JFK/BOS/MCO are three strong feeds that B6 can give LH. B6 says to stay tuned for further international codeshares in the near term other than Lingus.

If Jetblue gets enough pressure from these International carriers, they will add a First Class section. It's one way to reduce domestic at T-6, add a few widebody gates, and keep the FAA happy. Only makes sense to add First Class if you have the customers willing to ante up the jingle. International feed will do just that, particulary as LH becomes a large player from other EU cities.

Incidently, wonder why this deal got done in a few months? Stock price! Jetblue's was sinking fast, and waiting would only hurt both companies. Look for an announcement in the future about gate space at the new terminal and a codeshare agreement.

Good question. Another good question: Will pax get off of a big ol' comfy 777 out of EWR and squeeze their hind end into a EMB 135/145 to get the rest of the way to their destination. I don't know. Has it ever been tried?
Stay tuned, I guess.

Good point. Time will tell if we (CAL) continue to reduce our dependancy on 50 seaters, which is all our regional feed will ever be able to fly.

I hope you guys (CAL) keep it like that........You should own anything above 70!!!!!!!!

That middle seat on the CO 737 is a real peach. Love it! Loved my three hour ride with NO snack and one cup of diet coke too. Yes I was on full fare tickets but I was a mere shlep in coach.

You make a good point. I've long argued that we need a first class. Even if its a bare bones first class like AirTran or Delta narrowbody domestic. But we need something.

That said, plenty of Legacy and fireign code share first class international pax do a portion of their itinerary on tiny RJ's or turbo props, many with no first class at all, to all markets large and small. JB's coach is the best in the industry and we're probably getting a basic first class early next year.

A few pax may balk at the lack of champaign service and foot rubs on trans cons, but I bet not too many will give a ratswurst about sitting in the best coach in the industry going to BUF, ROC, SYR (the JB "golden triangle") and most other cities we fly to. Throw in a basic first class in addition to our excellent coach product and desireable JFK domestic network and it would probably do well.

To compare US mgmnt with JB is pretty sad! That is like comparing apples and oranges. Not even CLOSE! I am sure that their mgmnt (B6) is MUCH SMARTER than the idiot Wolf. Watch and see....;)

Not saying Wolf was a great for USAir, but the British Airways was signed under Wolf's predecessor (Schofield). Wolf just realized that USAir needed to get out from under the deal as the economy was starting to spool back up in mid 1990's.

I wouldn't say USAir management was all bad. They were near the top for revenue management (ie raping the customer). I grew up in Pittsburgh and remember them having a monopoly on many of their routes in the Northeast. I heard their PIT-PHL route at one point yielded $1.25 RASM.

Now, if Jetblue could only do a little better with revenue management, they could make some money. They definite produce a good product. I don't think their money problems are on the cost side.

Have you been on LH's domestic First Class? It is a coach seat with better service. I think the LH pax will have a seamless transition to JB, save the New Yawk accents.
