From the location, there is a possibility that this is a place that you don't want to be involved with. Ask around, and get a feel for the feedback from local pilots once you identify the operator.

Unless a plane was just purchased, which is unlikely, this could be an indication that pilots willingly left this employer.

I say this because an experienced captain with whom I used to fly had a bad experience with a Long Island Lear operator, and I can't imagine there being more than a few there between Republic and MacArthur.

Have you tried Executive Fliteways in Islip? There are also to 135 jet operators at Republic... Northeastern and another whose name I can't quite remember, but I think it's called Executive Aviation or something like that. The second one, with the name I can't remember, is the outfit that operated the Jetstream that went into the woods near Scranton in '99 (?), for whatever that's worth.

I have learned to not name names on public boards, so my advice is to get some information from the locals. I think that is sound advice.

Executive Airlines is the name you're thinking of. They're a small 135 charter operation, pretty mom & pop. Last I saw they had a Lear 25 and maybe a 35 along with maybe an A-Star helo. They were the operators of the Jetstream that went down on approach to AVP. They're not a bad operation, but like most small operators you have to take care of yourself.

There is a third operator at FRG that seems to have been left out: Summit Aviation http://www.summitjet.com/. They have a CL604, GIVSP, and a couple of Hawkers and helos. They're a much bigger operation than either Northeastern or Executive Airlines. Beware of training contracts with Summit however, I don't know what they're doing now, but in the past it was a rotating contract, meaning that every year when you went back to recurrent you owed them either another year of work or a prorated refund unless they terminated you. In today's environment I'd be surprised if that changed.
