I flew Traffic Watch in a C-172 for a year -- 85 hrs a month at $11.00. Certainly not the best job, but I built time really fast. Also try flying skydivers. It is mostly a summer thing but it will get you about 500 hours in a good summer.

Go to Oakland-Troy airport and talk to Joel who flys the helicopter as to who operates the traffic watch contract for Metro Networks now. Since I left there has been several new operators for Metro, but if you ask Joel he'll be able to help you. Go to the counter (at the FBO) and ask if you can talk to Joel. He'll hook you up.

In Marshall, Michigan, Linda Humphrey operates a skydive dropzone with a C-182 and a Beech 18 (twin), she lets low time guys fly there. Nice lady, nice people, and very easy flying. Best of luck.
