Pay is at the extreme on both ends. You have the regional pay on the low extreme and the major pay at the high extreme. If we averaged out our pay then it would be fair for all.

Go look in the archives for this dork looking for anyone that would hire him. Pay was never in his discussion.

That is an excellent idea!

In addition ALPA needs to stop representing a lot of these scumbag carriers.

Here's what I posted on another thread in regards to what ALPA can do to start helping turning our profession around:

ALPA stops representing commuter airlines that don't meet certain safety criteria. Not just FAA mins, but an increased amount defined by ALPA.

This would be a very pubilc move in light of the current events.

The list of non represented airlines would be made very public. People may stop flying said "less than safe" airlines.

Hopefully many of these airlines would then go out of business and the older, more established airlines (like it used to be) would have to grow again to pick up the slack. And along with this growth, so would the better paying pilot jobs.

We would have then gotten rid of less than safe airlines.

Created a way to grow the Major airlines again.

Create more better paying pilot jobs for higher experienced pilots, many of which may have been at these $hitty Co. which helps offset the pain of a lot of job losses at these airlines.

In the long run, the health of our profession will be on it's way to being restored, as well as providing a safer transportation system.

If we can create more, higher paying jobs, then ALPA will more than make up for the due's they will loose by dumping scumbag operators.

Bad idea.... by rejecting pilot groups and allowing them to become a product of "less than safe" carriers.. the new definition of the "race to the bottom" will be real...

Now, an even lower reality will be created.. unions would then have to fight to keep their members from being a part of this new low standard.....

When these, "less than safe" carriers gain a competitive edge business wise, union carriers will be pressured to lower their bar...

No, the goal is to raise the bottom up to a fair and reasonable level, so when they try and cram us down it is not far... allowing the bottom to drop out, only shows how low we are willing to go....

With globalization of the airline industry, foreign ownership and cabatoge around the corner, the new standard for "less than safe" carriers will no longer be the airlines we know in the US. The real "less than safe" airlines of South America, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia will be the new market standard.

So, we need to help the "less than safe" carriers in the USA but also now globally....

If we don't help others up, we will surely all go down....

How is this[outsourcing] a secret?

For the general public, that is. Ask any passenger who steps off a Delta owned EMB175, and ask which airline he/she just flew on. Their answer will be Delta or Northwest. "Are you sure it wasn't Compass?" The likely response, "Who's Compass?"

Heck, most pax getting off an intl 767 flight connecting to a DC-9 will think they are on a commuter. From an aircraft age standpoint, they are right. Asian pax connecting in DET from NRT will think they are on the Trump shuttle.

But Instructor Dude weren't you the one that claimed no one has a view like ours in their office. That BS hasn't come up yet in these articles. Go back to the Triple A bro.
