The only realistic option you have is flight instructing, so I would set your sights on getting your CFI's no matter what the cost. The time you might get towing banners or flying jumpers is not nearly as valuable as CFI time. Future employers you might have will also like to see that you were a flight instructor. As far as working overseas, just go ahead and forget about that, there are no American pilots working overseas, except maybe a very few, but I have not heard of any. it's not gonna happen unless your British. Get your CFI's
 
I know it's been said about 30 times already but the CFI is the way to go. A lot of great experiences and you can log a lot of time quickly. Plus nothing like the enjoyment(or shear terror) of watching a student solo for the first time.
