I thought those pilots in the Detroit area might want to see this. It was on the front page of Yahoo, so I think many of you have already read this. Fly safe!

Get a big fence, guard dogs, a howitzer and some assault rifles and I'll move to a crash pad mansion in the ghetto. :)

There is a reason cars are going for more than the houses in Detroit... at least you can get the cars out of town, (if you can keep some A-hole from putting it on blocks while you are stopped)

I've taken a drive through parts of Detroit and you couldn't pay me to live there. Some blocks just have a few houses still standing, since the other burned down or were demolished. Other blocks are just scary.

There are some nice streets but you still only have a few blocks before it gets scary again.

That's what I said to some collegues but then was told, "They should have been re-elected. This mess wasn't their fault, it was Archer and Engler that should be blamed." Man I need to get out of this state. With thinking like that this state won't hit bottom til everyone is gone.

I'm betting Michigan will turn around and owning 6 homes, I pray it turns around. With all the auto jobs on the chopping block, we are hurting for now.
The operative words are "FOR NOW."
It's like Texas was years ago with the oil crisis. Now look at texas, it is booming. I'm a gambler and I'm going to buy as many properties as I can while the prices are dirt cheap. Hopefully, ten to twenty years from now I'll
be laughing all the way to the bank. Detroit is going through a revitalization and yes there are dumpy areas(like ALL CITIES) but there are also a lot of cool things to do, especially greektown. Other areas that are great to live and have top notch schools are Grand Blanc, Frankenmuth, Ann Arbor, Birmingham.(just to name a few) Mackinac Island is an awesome place to visit in the summer. I grew up on Long Island, NY, lived in Florida, Boston, NJ, Pa., and Ohio. By far Michigan is my favorite place to live because there is so much to do, especially if you love boating. There are tons of freshwater lakes, golfing, skiing, snow mobiling, and the scenery in the u.p. is awesome. And you can't beat the midwestern hospitality. It's the best place to raise your kids and I never want to move.
