Got back tonight from my DHL run to read a letter by our president that DHL gave 30 days on a number of our feeder runs we do for them. Unfortunately for me my run is one of the affected.

I suspected in the long term that DHL runs would go the way of the Dodo but not this quick after the announcement yesterday-oh well, one thing you could count on since the DHL/ABX merger was instability.

Although there may be increased business on the UPS side of things I think it will be in the form of larger aircraft transitions on some runs rather than new business.

Hope I'm wrong, looks like BE99 time and a paycut is my future!

11 total got the CX from everywhere. 3 flight's UPS will keep us doing. Two out of PHX, and one out of ONT. 2 are pending, one out of ONT and a PDX run, which they may actually upgrade to an EMB-120.

Here’s my take on it, since UPS is taking BIDS on all the CX DHL runs and UPS could care less about service and more about price, Alpine will pick the one up out of GEG, and ACT will handle the SLC part. Not sure about the others though.

Read the letter again, poor SLC takes it on the chin with the loss of four runs-feel bad for those affected.

Which runs out of PHX were canceled? I'm assuming its the two metro runs to CXL?

SLC is losing a Metro, a 1900, and 2 99 runs. I still haven't seen the letter, but the news was given today in dispatch. I think the number is something like 20 runs company wide.

Losing 4 of 13 runs at a base can't be good. Glad I'm not in the bottom half of the list anymore, but I feel really bad for the outstation guys.

Hopefully people that ship DHL will switch over to UPS and not Fed Ex, so some of our UPS flights will be upgraded...

This is going to be a mess. Two different companys on our planes? So many questions to have answered on how well this debackle will go.So we have too much freight which gets bumped? And anybody who has flown for DHL knows they operate on a completely different clock than anybody else, must be a imprepre set German one. Sorry friendly ups guys can't unload the plane yet, the DHL drivers are still playing bumper cars in the parking lot. what do you say we just throw it down on the ground at the side of the belt loader? Okaly dokaly. This should be interesting.

You will have 3. UPS,DHL and USPS. My guess is the UPS will be the ONLY one with priority. One day I will have another job. And when I do there will be a day within the next couple years where dhl will will crumble. That will be a good day, a GOOD DAY.

I would LOVE to see the look on the faces of all the dhl people when their trucks are running late (which they do, often at times) and UPS says screw you dhl, we are not holding our plane. bye bye  The next to say bye bye to dhl will be the customers.

What a complete bunch of dolts!
