It's Finally Here...

Bigger than Christmas.

Bigger than Easter.

I've waited all year and it's time for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

My team made it again. NJ Devils, the team of the decade.

Devils in 6, but a Game 7 is always more fun.

Any predictions from the FlightInfo hockey fans out there????

I predict that I'll continue to be totally ignorant of hockey. :D

Good luck, though!

What is this "hockey" thing you guys keep talking about?

Down here in Texas, we use ice for our drinks. We don't skate around on it! :D

I'm going with the Ducks. My wife and I decided to get married at a Ducks game at the Pond (when they were lousy), so I gotta go with 'em. Plus I'm tired of New Jersey teams in the finals...Plus I'm also a Flyers fan....Go Ducks.

GO STARS!

STARS in 5, oh well, I would like to see NJ win but NO chance agianst the Rubber Ducks. Ducks in 6. I'm a realist!

Maybe Mavs win too, tonight.:(

I'll enjoy it; it's almost a man's sport (I have to spend the night with me mum because of the distance to the training center - me mum doesn't have cable). But it ain't futbol.

USA to the Worldcup Finals in 2006: Donovan scores six in three. Beasley has four assists!

The Cup

Brodeur to stop the puck....
Stevens to clear the ice....
Madden to do anything and everything...
.....and its Brylin to Friesen for the score!!!!!!!

16W.....Let's Go Devils!!!!!!!!!

(Props to the Ducks for making it this far....I rooted for them in their first three series, for sure - though you gotta love those Wild)

Well squirrel - I think I owe you an apology! You are a realist after all!

Good game by the Mavs.

Great Thread!

As evidenced by my screen name, I'm a huge hockey fan. I still play goalie and forward on some adult ice leagues here in San Diego.

This series will be a fun one, even after tonight, when the Ducks looked rusty, they still played well. I like NJ in 6, because they have the two best players at their positions - Stevens and Brodeur. Scott Stevens has to have the biggest balls on the planet. After getting a wicked slapshot right in the ear, and returning to play the next game, they must have gone from grapefruit sized, to volleyball sized. Gotta like "Jiggy", but NJ should win this one. And then, life will be emtpy again, until NFL training camp starts:)

Avs???

Who're they???

:D :D :D

Well, let's see. They were the Quebeq Nordiques who moved to Denver since Denver was without an NHL team since the former NHL franchise in Denver (the Rockies) moved to..........

You guessed it, New Jersey. To become.........

You guessed it again, the Devils.:o

P.S.

Anybody got a spare $8M/year goalie??

Feeling the pain brother. I'm a displaced Coloradoan and Av's fan here in NY. Couldn't believe my ears when the NY radio guys announced that Paddy was calling it quits. What a year crappy year for Av's fans everywhere.
I feel like going out and cross checking someone.
551 will stand for a very long time but would've been nice to see him get number 600 next year.

This Coloradoan has been displaced to Seattle, NY, VA, Minneapolis, and now ATL...so I feel your pain, also.

I'm mentally preparing for the next bit of bad news from the Avs camp, that Peter Forsberg is retiring and staying in Sweden. However, they have never been shy about spending the $$$ necessary to compete, so hopefully things will ultimately turn out ok.

The Detroit Red Wings 'cause this guy says so!

D@mn. If I have to pick someone, Go Devils.
