Well Ice and wind's had me grounded today So it Look's like St Johns To Santa Maria In The Morning.... Chat with ya all later!

Watch out for Santa Maria weather, their forecasting is VERY spotty, I guess they don't have a full time weather guy there, and you will only get forecasts when he (or she) is in the office.

We battle this a couple of times a week, but since we are 121, we can buy weather.

Good Luck!

After About 12 hours in a PA28 Non Stop I am Beat!!!! Nice even with 100 gallons and all the seats and luggage the CG in the PA28's are great even at 30% overgross the little PA28 did not have a problem getting to FL110~ Ever knotice when a PA28 gets about an inch of Rime on the leading edges it sets the stall horn off till the ice breaks off no matter what your angel of attack is hahahahahahaha!!!!

No, I got my ass out of the ice before I got that much, even when flying a/c certified for known ice.

When you kill yourself in somebody else's airplane, I hope your insurance doesn't deny their claim due to your stupidity. You DO have insurance, right?

NW Pilot,

I don't mean to pile on here, but you are way over your head dude. I hope you find a real job soon and don't have to take these risks. I mean come on man, you got a family to think about. On top of that, keep pulling stunts like above and they might not ever find you. That would just be one more emotional hit for your family to take.

I realize that there isn't much you can do if you encounter unforecasted icing (except try to get out of it) while 12 hours over the North Atlantic, but the fact that you even changed your AOA is a bad sign. You had the stall horn on, next might have been a buffet, then unrecoverable stall and death. I'm sure you are smarter than that. Hopefully you were just making light of a bad situation and hopefully it scared the S*it out of you. Hopefully you don't do it again. I don't want to see a NW Pilot memorial fund thread, nor do I want my insurance rates going up because of yet another accident.

Fly smart and Fly safe.

Looking at your track it looks like you did a 180 and then flew for a bit with another 180.

What happened?

Mother Nature can really play hardball. She gave you the one inch of ice and yah got away with it. Be careful, she might remember your words above and give yah somethin that yah cant handle to show yah whose boss.

Whatever your charging for those ferries (even though they may be fun) isnt enough. You got some brass balls Id say. Mine are tiny compared to yours.

I do hope that you have safe flights and that all goes well. The one time when that engine runs rough or has had enough when your over the water might be the time that you will think twice about doing it again...unless maybe it has at least another engine. I too would hate to see a thread for you recognizing accomplishments of the late NW pilot.

Spoken like a true tool.

Doing a little research it shows the shipping lanes far north of where you flew.

I was wondering what happens when you have an engine failure. Who comes and gets you. I realize you're probably wearing a gumby suit and a life raft and the water isn't as cold as up north but you can't stay in the water forever.

Aircraft can't come get you. So what options do you have? That is all if you survive the ditching and don't get injured.

I know people do it for the money and the experience but the dangers far outweigh any risk.
