Any suggestions? It needs to be within a 1000nm range (or more, if Im convinced it will be fun) of Atlanta. I have never taken the bonanza out of the country (sigh) so I'll have to do quite a bit of research. Also, I dont want to spend an arm and a leg on whereever we go. (anti Aviation mentality I suppose) Does anything come to mind?

I always wanted to pack a sleeping bag and a tent and only land at grass strips. Fly from 6am - 8am and goof off the rest of the day.

Where To Go !!

Mate,

For my money, inside a 1,000NM ring of Atlanta, The Bahamas are the place.
Eleuthera, Freeport, Nassau, Rock Sound, West End and Abaco Island, the farthest from ATL is 680NM.

March/April are the best months of the year !!

Bahamas. Pack a tent, some food, and set out. You can always get a hotel room for a night to shower, or just use the showers at some beaches. Quite the adventure! I'd certainly be jealous.

If you are looking to party, go to nassau or key west. If you are looking to get away and to have really cool laid back time, go to one of the outer bahamas islands like eluthera, exuma, cat island, etc. I have been to a place called fernandez bay on cat island. The strip is really close by. They have rooms, meals, scuba trips, fishing, etc. Nice beach there too!

Im thinking of going to Eluthera, I've been there before, but its been forever. Can anyone tell me what type of trip it would be in terms of customs, over water flights (which im nervous about), expense?

I've heard Cat Island is nice. There were some articles in a few flying magazines about it a while back; looks like a nice place to go to.

Lovely permicast!

Hey atlease your at the end of something. Or you could be at the begining. Depends on how you look at it.

but.....Atleast your are not stuck in the middle somewhere like Kansas. It is equal distance from just about everywhere.

Havana Cuba. Although the best way for that is to airline to mexico and then catch a flight from there to cuba

Actually from ATL the best would be to fly to Nassau, party there and then catch a Cubana Flight to Havana from there for a couple of days. Cuba is a lot of Fun!
