I think people are mixing up different videos here. The video that the original creator of this thread was referring to was filmed mostly in an E135 and was posted on this site a while back. All of it was filmed only from the jumpseat. The videos by the Skywest guy that someone later provided a link to were obviously at least partially filmed by active crew members. Personally I don't see where its a big deal for someone to film in the jumpseat if the Captain approves it, which was the case in the original E135 video. There are numerous commercial videos available through mail order pilot shops and such that were filmed from the jumpseat of various commercial airline flights. Here is a link to a few:
http://www.marvgolden.com/videos/airlines.htm . If it were against some regulation to video from a cockpit jumpseat, then the crews of all of these flights would be in violation. I don't believe this is the case. With that being said, I don't believe that it is wise to film a video from the right seat during takeoff and landing, such as this guy in the Skywest videos did. That is asking for trouble. Some folks just don't know where to draw the line and use a bit of common sense.
