I have seen women aboard Gulfstreams down to CJ's, that take care of the passengers and pilots, as flight attendants (if that is what you call them) and am trying to find out where to get started searching for a job of that type aboard private, corporate jets. I have seen plenty of sites for commercial flight attendants, but I would prefer to work with the "little guys" (don't think thats a insult for those of you that fly them)

I know it is mainly pilots on this board, but maybe a few of you might have some suggestions for me. I wish I could fly, but not quite there yet;)

If I recall correctly, you are somewhere in the upper midwest. First you must get out of there, unless you happen to be in Chicago. I believe that you will have a very tough task in obtaining a corporate FA job, but it is doable.

Your competition has years of airline FA training, as most corporate FA's started out as airline FA's. So I would suggest that you apply to an expanding carrier, like JetBlue, AirTran, SWA, or ATA and get a year or so of experience. Then move to a MAJOR metropolitan area (NY, LA, etc) and start knocking on doors.

Also, you should try one of the fractional operators. I don't know what background they like to see, but I assume that they also have a large stack of resumes from airline trained FA's.

The best positive I can give you is the fact that FA's turn over pretty quickly, so it shouldn't take long to get on as an FA with a small airline. The flip side to the coin is the reason for the high turnover, the life sometimes stinks. Low pay, long hours and crewscheduling :-)

Yeah, the "little guys" equate little pay, little quality of life, and poor work rules. The last poster hit it on the head, apply to Jet Blue, Airtran, Southwest and the like. These airlines will provide a decent salary and good travel benefits. Also, I think people are happy to work at these companies.

Second tier you might apply to ASA/Comair, although many flight attendants are miserable at the regionals, they pay you next to nothing and abuse you until you quit.

Go to the companies websites and learn all that you can before the interview, then show up well dressed (conservatively), and with a good attitude. Be prepared to answer questions like "how would you handle an irate passenger," and "why should we hire you?"

Corporate work, you could try NetJets (www.netjets.com).

The only advise I can offer, coming from a corporate mechanic's position, is that most of the FA's in the coprporate world are already FA's in the airline. They all do the corporate thing on the side. My next suggestion would be to seek out any charter companys in you area. I do not know what the requirements for a part 91 FA is but, a FAR part 135 will require that you have the training needed.

This offers no real advise but...

Forgive this but, I'm half tempted to call the boss right now and see about getting a larger aircraft just so we could get a flight attendant after seeing her picture. :)
