Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me with a question about logging flight time. It looks like I need to update my resume since the town of Furlough is just around the corner. The question I have is about FE time. What the @#!! do I log it as. I know it goes towards total time, but is it concidered flight time? If so, is it SIC of TIC (third in command- a new cat. I invented.) I have one app. that asks for total pilot time....umm, I'm not sure but I doubt figuring performance and playing with ACARS counts. Any insight would be much appreciated. I have 1,000 hrs. worth and it would be nice if I could apply towards something!

Dude...you were on the panel waaaaaay too long :D

Seriously, though, I'd start another column in your logbook labeled "as flight engineer" or something to that effect, just like you probably have one labeled "SIC".

And it's definitely pilot time; you were backing up the Capt and F/O whenever you could (making sure they weren't going to kill you). Bottomline you were thinking like a pilot (at least between crew meals) and utilizing your skills as an airman even though you weren't manipulating the flight controls.
