I am looking for your best CRJ 200 questions to post on http://www.crjstudyguide.com/checkride-questions/crj-qts.htm . I am making part of this site to post all of the really good questions CRJ 200 pilots send in.

If you think you have a good, tough, or just a question that might help other CRJ pilots, email me it to me. It does not have to be just system related. If you got a good jet question, performance qts, or anything else in training, that will work too. Anything you think will help a CRJ pilot.

Please include your answers.

I will get them up ASAP. I have one of those wonderful regional airline schedules with only 10 days off. Living the dream! WHAT??

Thanks

What hydraulic system operates the flaps?

Which one is on the main door?

How many First stage fan blades are there?

How many fans suck air into the ram air vent while parked on the ground? What do they cool? How are they operated? (mechanical or electric.)

Ummm... what else usless....

How much do the batteries weigh? How can you tell?

How many static wicks on the tail? Which ones are MEL'able?

Nothing of use mind you.

S.

If we send you a question, do we get some cash from the sales of the study guide??

How many ppl / pounds are allowed on the door at once?

How about,

How much does the apu weigh?

You walk into an aircraft on external power only. What messages are displayed on ED 1 and 2? (Believe it or not, I know someone at AWAC who was asked this question!).

What electrical system powers the standby compass? (YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW MANY NEWBIES GET THIS ONE WRONG!)

And yes, I've actually gotten this question on a PC.

How much does the APU weigh?.... HA, why because you're going to try and remove it yourself for MX? You were joking right? Any check-airman seriously looking for that needs to have his/her cert. pulled.

Now a real question... Why is the MCD the only door on the Doors Syn Page that's outlined in red?

Only for the web site

The questions you send in will only be used on the web site for the benefit of CRJ pilots.

What about...If you fly a crj in South America and "throw a load of darks in the wash", will the blue juice swirl the opposite direction?

What electrical system powers the standby airspeed indicator?

Ummm never thought about that one, but I do know the switch is on the overhead panel and is marked STBY COMP DIM, OFF, ON. I'm going to guess at DC ESS? Am I right?? :D :D

How about Make and pressure of the tires?

Temp of heating of the pot H2O system?

Had both of those lately!!

Now if buttered bread when dropped lands butter side down and a cat when dropped lands on it's feet. What happens if you tape buttered bread to a cats back then drop it how will it land??????

APU weights 157 pounds and puts out 52shp !!!!

You forgot to add that it spins at a constant 62,000 RPM, has 9 drains that connect to 5 overboard drain pipes (3 on the right, 2 on the left), uses 2- 1.4 Joule igniters, and has an oil capacity of 4.2 qts.

Get your nose out of the books and get back to work!

How do you spell "gyros?" :D

I got one, that someone showed me once. It's freaking weird though and will freak out the new FO's.

Using both DRP's and the Source Select Panel, if you place them in a certain position prior to establishment of AC power, from the APU, Ex Pwr, etc.....you can get both the Captains and FO's Primary and Multifunction Displays to power up upside down.

Hint, 3 switches are not in the normal position on the Source Select Panel.

I thought it was because it is the only non plug-type door.

Some of these questions are idiotic. Check airman that ask them need to get a life. Truly.

True, but how do you tell an idiotic instructor to pound sand when you're a probie FO when he asks you some idiotic questions like that?

I haven't read this whole thread, so sorry if these have been added:

1. For $25M why couldn't they have installed a temperature controller in the cabin. Why do I have to spend most of my enroute time monitoring the cabin temperature instead of focusing on important safety issues?

2. Also, for $25M why couldn't they have designed a cup holder that will hold a can of Diet Coke up without tipping?

I guess these are rhetorical questions, and not really study-guide questions.

Amen on the temperature controller! I guess they got it better on the 70. Another nice little addition would be intermittent wipers!

In a word Pro-Standards, if your new then you ask someone on the committee and see if they can help. If not ask the Chief of flight training/standards or the CP.

haha aint that the truth. Whoever is making a study guide I sure hope you dont focus on crap like this. Most checkairmen are reasonable. The only time they start digging in like that is probably if you dont know the basics. It does no good learning what bus powers what. Learning how to read the synoptic page and use the QRH does a heck of a lot more good. If you understand the synoptic page and the how and the why behind QRH procedures thats a lot of the battle right there!!
