Can anyone here tell me about any Cargo Operators who run an SIC Program?
Looking to get a hold of about 50 hours of Turbine Time or More...................................Thanks ah Bunch Folks.

OOPS, I forgot to mention..............anything Besides Key SLIME OR Alpine Dare!!!!!!!

Oh, those aren't good enough for you, eh? What do you expect, block time at UPS? I don't think you're going to be able to buy flight time from a reputable operator. Besides, 50 hrs. of turbine doesn't mean squat, especially when it's bought, not earned. You'd be wiser to save your money or if you really must spend it, rent a twin and get twice the amount of hours.

Arizona Aviation has Apaches for 128.00 per hour. If you split with someone and trade off on the hood its only $64.00 per person. That's cheaper than most Cessna 172's. Arizona Aviation is located at Falcon Field in Mesa Arizona.

Try Ameriflight. They used to have one. Better yet, go get a turbine job of your own!

Aahhh!

ooooooh enough with the bought, not earned bull$h!+....you dooshbag, but I do agree 50 hours dont really do anything.

Royal Air Frieght out of Pontiac, MI. I was talking to a C310 pilot about that yesterday and he said that they have alittle bit of a program. A few of there line goes go on SIC trips to build hours. If you find something let us know. Thanks

PFT sucks!!!!

There is a difference. If I remember right, the definition of PFT is you have the time, you're hired and are considered an employee but you either pay to fly or are paid at reduced rate. I think Comair and Continental Express used to do this in the 90's.

I think this guy just wants to buy some block time. Some guys buy block time in an Apache and some go a little further and buy it in a turbine. The people I've flown with at Ameriflight got some quality time, and better experience than just buzzing around in a light twin for hours on end.

At Ameriflight the pilots buying block hours are not considered employees, not given numbers and their badges say something about not being allowed to jumpseat on other carriers. Most leave Ameriflight for jobs at the regionals because there isn't a PIC requirement to be hired. I know some pilots have left, got some more time (Part 135 IFR mins) and then interviewed and been hired by Ameriflight.

My 2cents.

How are you going to log SIC time in a single pilot aircraft? I know for a fact that Ameriflight is flying their Metros Single pilot, and the Aero commander is single pilot too. If they happen to have a person that paid to be in the right seat and they are over weight, they get bumped. Not exactly a required crew member. Just something to think about if you want to use that type of time on your resume.

flybet3,

you must've bought your job (if you even have one) somewhere along the way...
you sure are a bitter little man.

grow up

I must be getting older and slower, should've have seen this thread going downhill a lot sooner. That being said, go instruct for a while.

No my friend, I worked very hard for my job, paid my dues....I just hate it when dooshbags start puting people down b.c people decide to do things differently. I never bought my job, but i do know people that have paid for their own type or did the gulfstream thing and they worked just as hard to pass training and pass their interviews. So bite me DIC head.....secondly this little man could stump your A$$ in a heart beat....

People have a God-given right in this country to do what they think is best to further their career. Even if that includes dropping 10K+ to ride shotgun in something that burns Jet A.

In the same right, everybody else has a right to ridicule and malign that person for ultimately helping to keep the state of our industry in the SHATTER by paying hard-earned money to be a *required crewmember*. You know, you have to be there per the FARS...so you should be getting paid to be there, not paying to be there.

I know a former Gulfstreamer, he didn't get that magical job with Pinnacle and had to go out and get a CFI & CFII so he could put food on his table. Nice guy, but poor decisionmaking in my opinion. I didn't hold anything against him, he had enough problems as it was.

There are few shortcuts...well, at least for average white guys like myself. Be prepared to live with the consequences of WHATEVER decision you ultimately make. And good luck...
