Sad news indeed.

174 souls on an A-320...?

Minus 2 pilots and 4 F/As, that would be 168 PAX?

Jet Blue is packing 154 or so?

Just curious on how tight they install them seats.

What is the max seating ever on a -320?

And finally, what is the max demonstrated number of PAX evacuating in 90 seconds?

a bit off topic, but Ryanair or Easyjet packs 200 into a 737. Seats are so close together, they don't recline.

Maybe there are some americans within a couple miles they can try to blame it on.

Well, I was down there yesterday but not in the Sao Paulo airspace.

Seriously, be vigilant in third world ATC systems: Turn off the ipods, crank up the TACAS and listen to several freqs on VHF. (Primary VHF plus Guard plus 123.45)

Keep lights on and eyes open.

Cnn reporting over 200 dead. RIP all.

How do we keep that CNN Summer's Eve bag Miles Obrien from reporting on airline incidents? Great he's an instrument rated pilot. Can someone please explain to me how that means he is qualified to report on Airline issues? This is the guy who said that icing couldn't be ruled out in the Comair crash in August.

The Drive-By Media strikes again. This time with Kiran Chetry dolled up to look like Soledad O'Brian. Fugly and dumb.

Enough said. He's qualified to be a Regional Airline Pilot.

Yep, heard Miles say the Pilots may tried to "step on it" or "put the pedal to the metal" in an attempt to take off again. Classic jerk.

I love the media types. Listening to CNN today talk about short runways, "Hitting the spoilers" couldn't solve most of these problems.

Classic responce from someone who thinks they know everything about anything. "Oh, well they should have just hit the spoilers!"

"Yeah, those pilots shouldn't have hit the spoilers so soon, otherwise that would have been a perfect landing"

"If the FA had hit the spoilers, she would be skinnier"

Breaking News on CNN. They have video footage of the TAM flight on final "And it's coming in faster than normal!" ......How the P-Funk do they know, how fast that airplane was going? Was it a cop clocking it with a radar gun? COME ON!!!!!

No wonder I watch FOX. Can't stand the crap on CNN. Not that FOX does a much better on airline related topics either.
