Can the staff strike??? Would ALPA hire scabs???

Can the staff strike??? Would ALPA hire scabs???

Yes the staff can strike, and no, ALPA would not hire scabs. ALPA closed everything down a few years ago when Unit 2 went on strike. It only lasted four days before a settlement was reached.

Hell yes they would...if this was prolonged! Anyone who thinks otherwise is insane.

If the office folks think that National would not hire outside help during a potential strike, then what would keep them from walking until they got exactly what they wanted?

PLC you still have not answered the question. How does ALPA National maintain the status quo for union workers without rasing dues or firing management?

Well, Looks like Mr PFT_128 forgets about all those Continental scabs that were allowed back in the union..*cough cough* I mean association.
All they had to do was pay back dues and they were in like flynn.

Ask PFT_128 about scabs. He knows all about them, all too well. He used to fly for an Eastern Scab. Actually, he paid that man for his first airline job.

Actually I did already answer that question: cut other expenses.

Like what...how about you start with Praters pay and expenses?

I would actually look at the management pay long before looking at Captain Prater's pay and expenses. Start with the General Manager and work your way down. You could save a hefty sum by capping management pay at $250k.

And what happens when an airline points out that ALPA enforces pay caps on its employees and that the same should apply to their pilots what are you going to say? This whole thing looks silly when we are "taking it back". What happens when ALPA management takes it back?
