I was just wondering what was happening myself. Here we are an hour and a half into trading and we are up 207 points. Dis I miss something this morning. Maybe it is the nex poll that shows the majority of Americans are getting behind this war. However, the majority still favors UN approval. Oh well, I hope this movement keeps on going. My 401K really needs it. Delta stock is up to $8.49. Quite a turnaround from the six dollars and some chage a few days ago.

there is hope that getting a war behind us will improve the economy hence the upswing now that appears war is within 1 or 2 days and hopefully an end in sight to the non-stop Iraq crisis.

Stocks surge as war nears
Monday March 17, 10:55 am ET
By Susan Lerner

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Stocks surged Monday morning after the U.S pulled the plug on UN diplomacy on Iraq, as investors hoped an imminent war with Iraq would put an end to some of the uncertainty that has engulfed equity markets.

The real test will be tomorrow. Will investors take the profits they made by buying early this morning, or will the let it ride and hope the market keeps climbing?

If they take profits, it doesn't really mean much. But, if they let it ride and the market climbs some more we will have a little proof that the perception of the economy has improved.

Let it ride boys!
