Ok I have 150 hours TT right now. I am about to start instrument training...20 hours airplane, 20 hours sim. Would my TT after my rating be 170 or 190? Just wondering if I can use the sim time towards the 250 hour requirement for the Commercial. Thanks a bunch

Your TT after 20 hours of instrument training in an airplane and 20 in a sim would be 170, because sim time does not count toward total flight time. However you can use up to 50 hours of sim/ftd time toward commercial. So if you had 20 ftd/sim you would only need 230 instead. It's in the regulations 61.129(i)(1)(i).
