Logging Time Question

it would be logged as dual received (and PIC if rated). The only exception I could come up with would be for type rated aircraft required to have SIC, whereas you are receiving instruction for SIC, but even then you are not yet rated so you couldn't even do it then.
 
What if I'm doing my private and I can't log PIC, would that time I am flying while getting my private be SIC?
 
No. If you're doing your private it's not loggable as PIC or as SIC (except when you are olo you may log PIC)
 
Is it just me or should someone with your ratings and experience know the answer to the question?
 
Take a pen and line through that SIC at the top of the page and write "DUAL". Now you have a column to log your dual instruction received.
