I have a friend that flys a CJ. The plane requires 2 pilots, however he has a single rating in it. I have been told that after I get my mutli rating (here soon!) I will be able to log SIC in the CJ. I have also been told that I cant log SIC, but I can log Safety Pilot. His CFI has elapsed so I cant log Dual. My question is, what can I log, and do I need a high altitude endorsement before I can log anything? I am somewhat skeptical to start logging SIC, if it is in question, not to mention, I dont want future interviews to turn bad, if they start questioning why I am logging SIC when I am not supposed to and/or why I am logging SIC when there is no need for it (because he is single rated and there isnt a need for SIC) If you could supply a reg or clarify it for me I would appreciate it.

THANKS

Sorry to be short but I'm in a hurry.

61.55 deals with becoming SIC qualified
61.51 deals with logging SIC time.

Yes, you MIGHT be able to log the SIC time.

No, you do not need a high altitude endorsement to LOG SIC or PIC time.

Yes, future interviews might look skeptical of this time.

Best advise if you chose to log it is learn the airplane inside and out! The best way to defuse a questionable time question at an interview is to know the airplane and know its systems
