I am thinking about getting logbook pro. I used the search on the subject of electronic logbooks on this site which sheds lots of light on the subject of electronic logbooks. There is one question I have that was not brought up.

From what I can tell, logbook pro is only available via a download... they do not sell you a CD with their program on it and mail it to you. This is all fine until I need to get my data on another computer or want my data on more than one computer. Let's say my the computer that my data is on decides to crap out or the laptop is stolen...etc etc. Does anyone know if you can buy the software on a CD and how do you guys who use logbook pro deal with buying a new computer... do you have to buy the software again or an upgrade again?

Thanks in advance for any positive replies

When you buy the program you are given an unlock code. If you get a new computer all you will have to do is download the program again, install it and enter the code.

A CD is available for Log Bok Pro. I have it as a backup. I have been using the program for two years with no problems. I also use Airlinelogbook.com and sync my data from a Palm handheld.
