i was wondering about the the equation for locating your distance out from a VOR ....
distance (nm) = TAS X (min. between bering change)/(bering change)
why would it be true airspeed??? doesn't Ground Speed make much more sense, or are they just figuring you don't know where you are so you couldn't measure a GS without more equipment???
kindof lost on this... any better explainations would be appreciated!
