I was heading into Dallas Ft. Worth yesterday and I noticed that they had some pretty different types of Loc approaches that I have never seen before. There are a couple different ILS Loc appchs. to the same runway labeled X, Y appch. the only differences between the two approaches is that one of them has a DA of 802 and the other has a DA of 880 but from what I can tell they are still the exact same. I didn't get a chancee to look at them to well so I might have missed something but I would like to know what they are. I even asked an American Eagle Captain and he didn't know. Any help out there.

They are exactly what you figured out they are. Multiple approaches that use the same navaid for course guidance that differ in some the details of the procedures. Unlike the approaches that are not aligned with a runway (VOR A, VOR B, etc), these start with the letter Z and work their way backwards through the alphabet.

See AIM 5-4-5.a.3.

I also believe Ft. Walton Beach, FL (VPS) has 2 of these. Not looking at the plates themselves, I believe the missed approaches are different.
