I need some advice from anyone who has been in my situation. I am a private pilot and am considering changing careers. I started training when I was 16, soloed at 17 and went to college. Ran out of money, didn't fly and now I'm just getting back into it. What I've discovered is that I never should have left. Now I have a decent paying job and have decided I want to fly.

Has anyone with not so great credit had any luck with student loans for flight training? I made a few mistakes with credit cards in college but have since purchased a car and have never missed a payment. Slowly but surly rebuliding credit now. I'm not a homeowner and I've been told that may work against me since I have zero collateral.

Right now I'm not flying much so I can save but for the accelerated schools, it's going to take me forever to save $50k. I'm 27 and would like to make the career transistion soon.

Does anyone have advice or been in my situation?

Thanks for any input!

Happy flying!
